RideHorn is a social, group-ride and club app for motorcyclists. This page says what the app collects, why, who it goes to, and what you can do about it.

1. What we collect

• Account: your email, name and profile photo (Google or email sign-in).
• Profile: city, your motorcycle(s), badges, and — if you entered one — your emergency contact name and phone number. We do not read your address book; the number is stored only as you typed it.
• Precise location: recorded while a ride is running and shared live with your crew on a group ride. Location is also collected while the app is in the background and the screen is off, for the duration of the ride — an ongoing notification says so. Collection stops when the ride ends.
• Photos and video you upload to ride albums, your garage, a stolen-bike report or a listing.
• Identity document: if you request rider verification, the photo you take holding your licence. Used only for that decision and deleted from the server as soon as it is made.
• Audio: your microphone while the group intercom is on. Audio is never recorded — it is relayed live and discarded.
• Diagnostics: the last few hundred lines of app activity and crash reports. You can switch this off in Settings.
• Device: a notification token so we can reach your phone.
• From the website (no account needed): the e-mail address you leave on the ridehorn.com waiting list, or the name, e-mail and message you send through the contact form. We use the address only to tell you when the app ships — we do not sell it and do not add you to any other list. Write to the address below and we will delete it.

2. Why

• So a group can see each other on one map, notice a rider who has fallen behind, and call a regroup — location.
• For the ride summary, the route record and the memory album — location and photos.
• So that after a crash the app can call and text your emergency contact — phone number and location.
• To connect you with riders in the right city — the city on your profile.
• To see it when the app misbehaves on your phone — diagnostics.

3. Who it goes to

We do not sell your data and we do not give it to ad networks. The app runs on these services:

• Google Firebase — authentication, database, file storage, push notifications, crash reporting. Most of the data lives here.
• Mapbox — route drawing and address search. Coordinates only; not who you are.
• MET Norway (Norwegian Meteorological Institute) — weather. Coordinates only.
• Our own server — notifications, the voice intercom and diagnostics logs are processed here and handed to no one else.

Beyond that, data becomes visible to another user only because you did something: joined a crew, shared a ride, opened a listing. Your phone number on a listing is shown only to a buyer you approved, never on the listing itself.

4. How long we keep it

• Identity document photo: deleted when the decision is made.
• Diagnostics: 14 days.
• Notifications: 90 days. Device tokens: 270 days.
• Live ride positions: transient, removed when the ride ends. The recorded track stays on the ride and you can delete it.
• When you delete your account: recoverable for 30 days, then permanent. Shared content (club records, group rides) is kept anonymised.

5. Your rights

Under GDPR and Turkey’s KVKK you may access, correct and erase your data. The app does these on screen:

• Freeze account — nobody can see you, nothing is destroyed, you lift it yourself.
• Delete account — recoverable for 30 days, then permanent.
• Stop sharing location — Settings > Privacy.
• Stop sending diagnostics — Settings.

6. Children

RideHorn is not designed for people under 18 and does not knowingly collect data from them.

7. Changes

Changes are published on this page and the effective date above is updated. For a significant change we also tell you inside the app.
